PPH Program Extended: IP Vietnam and KIPO Continue Patent Cooperation Through 2028

The Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (IP Vietnam) and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) have agreed to extend the implementation of the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Pilot Program for an additional three years, from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2028.

During the implementation of the PPH Pilot Program, IP Vietnam will accept up to 100 PPH requests per year for patent applications originating from KIPO (i.e., applications previously filed with KIPO) that meet the conditions specified in the Guidelines for Filing PPH Requests with IP Vietnam (available in both English and Vietnamese).

Applicants interested in filing PPH requests with IP Vietnam must use the designated PPH Request Form provided by the office.

Conversely, KIPO will also accept up to 100 PPH requests per year for patent applications originating from IP Vietnam (i.e., applications previously filed with IP Vietnam) that meet the conditions outlined in the Guidelines for Filing PPH Requests with KIPO (available in both English and Vietnamese).

Applicants interested in filing PPH requests with KIPO must use the PPH Request Form provided by KIPO.

IP Vietnam hereby notifies applicants of the continued availability of the PPH Program and encourages interested parties to submit PPH requests in accordance with the applicable guidelines.
